Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to make as many regular posts due to a hectic end of the year, and I’m leaving for Europe on Monday, so you’ll just have to use this down time in posts to catch up on the ones you haven’t read yet. I am really pleased with the feedback I’ve been hearing and the amount of views the posts have been getting, especially during these last few weeks when new content was rare.

After four great months, we’ve decided to make some changes to the Y-kid starting in June. Instead of two posts a week, we’re cutting back to just one. Look forward to starting off your week right with a new post every Monday! You can also look forward to a new layout in the next couple of months.

Whether you’re a Y-kid at heart or not, we appreciate you stopping by and taking a look around. Matthew and I have been working hard the past month to get the site up and running. We’ve worked out most of the kinks and have some great posts lined up! We started this site because we wanted to remember the great things of our childhood, so we hope you enjoy these memories just as much as we do.

We are looking for Generation Y’ers to guest post on a specific memory they have from growing up, so if you are in college or have recently graduated (ie born around 1980-1990), please contact us! We are also open to suggestions on topics you want covered or posts you want to submit.

Look for new posts every Monday and Friday. We hope that if one post doesn’t interest or apply to you, the other one will. We’ll be discussing clothes, foods, tv shows, toys, and more!

Generation Y has a nearly intimate connection to technology.

in a survey of 7,705 college students in the US:

· 97% own a computer

· 97% have downloaded music and other media using peer-to-peer file sharing

· 94% own a cell phone

· 76% use instant messaging and social networking sites

· 66.6% of college students have a Facebook account

· 60% own some type of portable music and/or video device such as an iPod

· 49% regularly download music and other media using peer-to-peer file sharing

· 34% use websites as their primary source of news

· 28% author a blog and 44% read blogs

· 15% of IM users are logged on 24 hours a day/7 days a week
